Project Engineer (Walkdown) - UK, Reading - 6 Month Contract

Are you a Project Engineer located in the UK and looking for an opportunity to work with one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies? We have the role for you! Our client is at the forefront in developing of a number of key and revolutionary products and with a thriving global presence is recruiting for a Project Engineer to join their new project. 

What you'll do:
  • Provide hands-on engineering and project execution support for small to mid-scale works, including resolving snag/punch list items, conducting field walkdowns, and ensuring activities are delivered safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day project activities from scoping through to completion, maintaining schedule adherence, identifying risks or slippage, and ensuring operational readiness throughout the lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, contractors, and support functions to deliver project requirements, deconflict issues, drive innovative solutions, and ensure smooth, compliant execution within the TFM contract.
  • Ensure full compliance with policies, SHEQ processes, and industry standards, embedding safe working practices and maintaining high technical and quality standards across all workstreams.
What you'll need:
  • Strong technical and operational capability, including hands-on troubleshooting, ability to read engineering drawings and P&IDs, equipment commissioning knowledge, CMMS experience (e.g., Maximo or PlanOn), and a solid understanding of safety standards and site procedures.
  • Proven experience in engineering or project engineering (2–7 years), including project scoping, conducting equipment or site walkdowns, and applying recognised project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, PMP, MAPM, or RIBA.
  • Effective stakeholder and project coordination skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, present confidently, manage internal/external customers, organise multiple workstreams, and consistently deliver to deadlines with integrity and professionalism.
