High Voltage Substation Primary Engineer – Permanent – Netherlands – €80k-90k per year

Our client, a leading global infrastructure and engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced High Voltage Substation Primary Engineer to join their team and support the delivery of a major project based in The Netherlands.This is a permanent role, offering the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile programme within a complex engineering environment.

What you’ll do:

• Act as technical lead for HV primary circuit engineering on substation projects (AIS/GIS), from concept through detail design and construction support.

• Develop and review HV primary circuit designs, including substation layouts, equipment arrangements, busbar configurations, and HV cable systems.
• Contribute to and review power system studies such as load flow, short-circuit, and equipment rating assessments to ensure safe and reliable operation.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD[CS1] , PSCAD, ETAP).
• Strong understanding of primary circuit design principles, including substation design, overhead lines, and underground cables.
• Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource management.
