Senior Financial Accountant – Cork, Ireland – Initial 8-Month Contract – Life Sciences

This is a fantastic opportunity to support a state-of-the-art facility in Cork. You will be joining a leading Biopharmaceutical company who focus on a range of products which are life-changing for individuals.

Our client is currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant.

What you’ll deliver:

• Month-end close responsibilities including journal entry preparation and submission, balance sheet reconciliations, review of monthly financial results in accordance with US GAAP, and submission of close deliverables.
• Assist with preparation of consolidated financial management reporting for balance sheet and P&L inventory areas.
• Maintain internal controls in line with corporate standards, GAAP, and Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Work with internal and external auditors as required.
• Accounting for manufacturing activity including material purchases, overhead absorption and contract manufacturing costs.

 What you'll need:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualification.
• Experience in a multi-national organization and inventory accounting experience is preferred.
• Demonstrate experience in process improvement initiatives and working on own initiative.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and internal control environment desirable.
• Experience with an integrated ERP system, general ledger functions, sub-ledger processes, and period closing. Understanding of relationship of other accounting functions to manufacturing accounting. SAP experience is a distinct advantage.
