Engineering SHE Lead – Evansville, IN– Initial 12-Month Contract – Life Sciences

Our client is currently seeking the skills of an Engineering SHE Lead to support their team. Our client develops and delivers life changing medicines to millions of people globally and as part of their growth. With their Drug Substance (DS) manufacturing network growing rapidly, they are committed to growing their portfolio of commercial biologics products supplied worldwide – and this is your opportunity to be involved!

What you’ll deliver:
  • Act as the primary SHE point of contact for the project, ensuring objectives, requirements, and performance targets are clearly defined, communicated, and achieved.
  • Lead and coordinate SHE studies, risk assessments, and design reviews, ensuring safety requirements are effectively integrated into project designs and change management processes.
  • Monitor and drive delivery of the SHE programme, including training, action tracking, reporting, schedule management, and support for key project stage-gate reviews.
  • Provide SHE support throughout project execution, commissioning, and handover, including contractor selection, pre-startup safety reviews, mechanical completion activities, and knowledge transfer to operations teams. 
Experience required:
  • Extensive experience in Engineering SHE, Process Safety, or HSE leadership roles within major capital projects, preferably in pharmaceutical, life sciences, chemical, or highly regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SHE risk management methodologies, including HAZOPs, risk assessments, design reviews, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and implementation of safety-by-design principles.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, design contractors, construction teams, and stakeholders to ensure SHE requirements are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive SHE compliance, influence decision-making, and support successful project delivery from design through commissioning and handover.
