Land Transaction Manager - Offshore Wind - Norfolk - 12-Month Contract

Our client is a leading developer in the industry, owning and developing projects across all major and emerging offshore wind markets. They are now recruiting with a superb new opportunity for a Land Transaction Manager to join them on an initial 12-month contractual basis, based in Norfolk.

With a significant track record of successfully delivering projects and a vast project pipeline across the UK, Europe and emerging international markets, this is an incredibly exciting time to join them in their current project.


Responsabilities:

  • Responsible for negotiation of all legal agreements to secure identified land for survey works, construction & operations activities including land for electrical infrastructure, habitat management and access. Includes securing any additional land requirements as a result of required infrastructure changes.
  • Exercise the compulsory acquisition rights granted as part of the DCO as required at the construction phase.
  • Manage external support for land acquisition and compulsory acquisition process, including real estate lawyers, CPO lawyers and external land agents
  • Responsible for novation of all relevant land agreements to the OFTO
  • Work closely with other land transaction manager, Onshore Consent Managers and Project Development Manager to provide land transaction advice that might affect onshore scheme definition/routing etc in order to minimise project risk.
  • Work in collaboration with the agricultural liaison officers.

Requirements: 
  • Experienced manager (several years) with demonstrable experience in negotiating legal agreements for the acquisition of land preferably with first–hand experience of the CPO process;
  • Demonstrable experience in management of people, budgets, programmes, risks and report writing;
  • A thorough understanding of land transaction agreements and the consenting process and associated issues;
  • Experience of renewable energy, utility, or offshore industries advantageous, particularly: electrical infrastructure issues associated with an offshore wind farm or linear development;
  • Experience in working on projects and in teams where interfaces between a range of technical disciplines exist
