Chemical Engineer - Pharmaceuticals - Clonmel, Ireland

Our Partner in Tipperary area develops and supplies the active ingredients and final formulated product for a range of innovative medicines at its manufacturing and R&D facilities. The plant, which has been operating in Tipperary for over 40 years, exports to over 25 countries around the world with primary markets being Europe, USA and Japan.


Main duties will be:
  • Supporting process start-ups, campaigns, and turnarounds across plants in Clonmel ensuring adherence to yield, quality, and safety targets.
  • Generating paper & electronic batch records and automated recipes for various steps in the manufacturing process.
  • Leading investigations into process-related issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identifying and implementing equipment and process improvements.
  • Collaborating with other departments such as Safety, QA, Projects, and Process Chemistry to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, sharing technical expertise, and guiding complex projects.

Ideal Experience required:
  • An honours degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in API production or related environment
  • Experience in process modelling/simulation and/or data analytics would be advantageous.
