Packaging Engineer - Ireland, Galway - 6 Month Contract

Are you looking for the opportunity to work alongside a global pharmaceutical organisation in Galway? Our esteemed client is looking for a Packaging Engineer to join their team in their existing manufacturing facility in Galway.

The facility is a responsible for tablet manufacturing (OSD) and secondary packaging (blister packing and bottle primarily for tablets and capsules), and our client is looking for a Packaging Engineer to help maintain manufacturing operations.

What you'll do:
  • Packaging Output: Drive OA (Operator Availability) & OEE improvement across the manual & automatic packaging & visual inspection lines.
  • Visual Inspections: Deliver process improvements across VI (Visual inspection equipment, both manual, Semi-Auto & Auto lines)
  • Equipment Knowledge: Very familiar with typical packaging equipment such as cartoners, Labellers, track & trace serialisation solutions, vision inspection, and highly automated assembly machines across Vial, Syringe & Cartridge platforms.
  • Organise and lead meetings: with equipment suppliers & operations to optimise efficiency. Prepare process documentation, operating instructions, and specifications
  • Collaboration and Communication: Lead Cross-functional Teams: Working closely with various internal teams, including tech services, manufacturing, supply chain, regulatory, and quality assurance.
What you'll need:
  • University bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, for example, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Packaging, or related field, preferred.
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of Quality Systems & Tools (problem solving, Pareto analysis) and Packaging Technology & development.
  • Technical knowledge and skills in project management, packaging development, approval, and quality control of packaging for food products is required.
  • Competent in IT applications, for example, Power BI, SAP, Office, etc..
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work to deadlines.
