2016 was a year packed with unforgettable moments: Pokémon Go had millions of people roaming the streets in search of digital creatures, Stranger Things burst onto our screens and instantly became a cult favourite, and SpaceX made history by landing a reusable rocket on a drone ship for the very first time. It was also the year the internet couldn’t get enough of the viral “Damn, Daniel!” video, which had everyone repeating the catchphrase and laughing about those iconic white Vans.
Amid all the global excitement, one of the most memorable moments here at QCS Staffing was when Kelly joined our ambitious and fast‑growing team.
In this blog, we dive into Kelly’s journey, the impact she’s had and the incredible contributions she has made since stepping through our doors in 2016!
After completing my degree in Business and HR, complimented by a season abroad and some background work in childcare, I decided to develop my interest within recruitment. This was an industry that I had a keen eye for, but I wasn’t blown away by any of the local recruitment companies – until I came across QCS!
Coming in, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I knew the second I walked through the door that ‘Quanta’ at the time, was so different to any other staffing firms that I had been to before. My first interview with Jo and Lauren was one to remember, I’d never had so much fun in an interview as I did here. That is when I knew that QCS was for me.
I started as a Trainee Delivery Executive and due to the amazing support around me, I soon passed probation and was lucky enough to be promoted at the same time! This was heavily impacted by the support of Lauren and the ‘Energies Team’, we had such a great dynamic and team moral.
I continued as a Delivery Executive for 5 years in total, getting to work alongside Business Winners and support key accounts, which enabled me to grow and add responsibilities to my role. This experience, as well as candidate and client trips really helped me gain a better understanding of every aspect within my role.
In 2021 I got the chance to move into a leadership position and start to grow a team of my own! My team sits within the Data Centre & IT industry and is constantly growing – it’s amazing to think back to how it all started and compare it to my now dedicated team of enthusiastic individuals.
“Every now and then, someone walks into an interview, and you just know, that was Kelly. I remember her interview so fondly, instantly likeable and somehow managing to make the meeting feel so relaxed that we practically forgot we were even interviewing. From the moment she walked in, it was clear that Kelly wasn’t just a good candidate - she was the perfect QCS fit. Kelly is the kind of colleague you celebrate not just for what she does, but for who she is, congratulations Kelly! - Joanna Belmar
The part that I love most about my job would have to be watching other people develop and become successful with my support and guidance. I see Delivery Executives start with little to no previous knowledge, like myself and become passionate about their job, smashing their targets and promotions! Seeing them achieve goals is a great reminder of how rewarding both leadership and recruitment can be.
I also love the variety- no week is the same and I love both the challenges and opportunities that this presents. I think it’s important to remember that recruitment isn’t always easy and it can face you with quite challenging obstacles, but at QCS we have so much fun and use this to pick each other up during hard times!
“5 years ago, Kelly was on a Teams call as part of the team that interviewed me to join QCS Staffing. From the get-go she was welcoming, kind and funny and her humour was on show right away…The person that was on that interview is still as kind and funny as ever and continues to go above and beyond to support those around her. I have benefitted hugely from working with Kelly since I joined and I’ve really enjoyed watching her go from strength to strength at QCS. Kelly embodies our values and is an amazing professional to her team and peers but more than that for most, she is an incredible friend.” - Jay Hearne
One of my proudest moments would be when I won Delivery Executive of the Year. I always looked up to so many other amazing DE’s and appreciated how amazing they were doing - so being chosen for this among a team of amazing individuals was really special and gave me the mental clarity to know that I was doing well.
A standout highlight so far was winning Manager of the Year, being a manager is such an amazing opportunity and we are blessed with so many inspirational leaders here at QCS. Being shortlisted against such strong colleagues is special to me, as well as being appreciated for my hard work by the wider business.
Following from this, last year I saw all my team pass probation or achieve a promotion. This was a big career highlight as it proved how strong we are as a team and how well everyone had done to achieve their individual goals.
"Kelly always looks at the bigger picture, looking after the interests of her team and QCS. She builds excellent relationships based on trust, transparency, and collaboration and truly embodies QCS’s ‘one team’ ethos. Kelly has created an environment for her team where ideas are welcomed, challenges are tackled openly, and everyone feels valued. Above all, Kelly leads by example, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes. I’m grateful for the mentorship and guidance she’s provided, and I feel fortunate to work with someone who inspires confidence and brings out the best in those around her." - Iain Dickens
Trust the process – you will never regret it! From a progression perspective, it will be the best decision you’ll ever make as the training and support on offer makes it near impossible to not succeed.
Aside from all the incredible people I work with, both candidates, clients, and employees, I will forever be grateful for the level of investment that this company has had in me. They have helped me climb through numerous levels of the business along the way and still are able to offer me more training opportunities going forward. I have met so many people along my journey and have watched them flourish across all areas of the business.

“I had the pleasure of working with Kelly since she joined QCS and it has been a great journey.
She came in with a can-do attitude and took everything in her stride when joining, she quickly progressed and got the DE of the year award, smashing targets and getting promoted.
