Radioactive Waste Characterisation Engineer - Belgium, Mol - Permanent ContractWe are looking for an experienced Radioactive Waste Characterisation Engineer
on a Permanent basis for a client based not far from Geel, Belgium.
You will be working with our client who are a radiopharmaceutical organisation committed to improving the lives of people affected by cancer with their world first treatment which cannot be found naturally. Their focus is in the radiotheranostics field, which facilitates patient-tailored optimization of treatment by tracking the distribution of therapeutic agents in the body. This cutting-edge approach minimizes patient side-effects while enhancing treatment efficacy.
What you'll do:
- Develop and maintaining radioactive waste management strategy for sorting, packaging, characterization, interim storage and transport of radioactive waste in line with applicable regulations and best practices.
- Define and specify radioactive waste infrastructure (hot cells, gloveboxes, storage, measurement areas) and oversee its design, procurement, commissioning and safe operation.
- Selecting, specifying, procuring, commissioning, and validating all measurement and characterization equipment.
- Interpreting and validating measurement data from gamma spectrometry, alfa spectrometry and other radiological techniques to ensure data quality and regulatory compliance.
What you'll need:
- Master’s degree in Industrial Sciences with a focus on Nuclear Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in the nuclear and/or radiopharmaceutical industries is a must.
- Experience with radioactive waste management.
- Experience with radiological characterization techniques.
