Project Director (Drug Substance Facility) - US, South East Coast - 12 Months Initial Contract

We are looking for an experienced Project Director for a fantastic 12 months initial contract based on the South East Coast.

You will be working with our client who are a global biopharmaceutical organisation committed to improving the lives of people afflicted with neurological and immunological disease.

What you’ll do:

• Provide overall leadership for the drug substance expansion project from concept through operational start‑up.
• Establish a robust project governance structure, risk management processes, and reporting mechanisms.
• Lead capital project decision-making and ensure alignment with executive stakeholders and global strategy.
• Maintain accountability for project scope, timeline, budget, and quality targets.
• Oversee development and execution of Concept Design, Basic Design (FEED), Detailed Design, Construction, CQV (Commissioning, Qualification & Validation), and handover.

What you’ll  need:

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Biotechnology, or related technical discipline.
• Extensive leadership experience in large pharmaceutical/biotech capital projects, including drug substance manufacturing.
• Proven track record delivering facilities in the $500M–$2B+ range or equivalent scale.
• Experience working with GMP, FDA/EMA regulatory expectations, and biopharmaceutical facility design.
• Strong leadership of multidiscipline engineering teams and EPC/EPCM partners.
