Senior IT Technician - Iceland, Keflavík - Permanent Contract

QCS staffing are partnered with one of the world’s top AI infrastructure companies. As an organisation, our client are leading a new era in cloud computing to serve the global AI economy. They create the tools and resources for their customers requirement to solve real-world challenges and transform industries, without massive infrastructure costs or the need to build large in-house AI/ML teams.

To support our client’s continued growth, they are currently looking to hire a Senior IT Technician in Iceland, Keflavík.

Responsibilities:
  • Planning regular IT tasks in the data centre
  • Solving issues with IT hardware and supporting IT infrastructure in the data centre
  • Collaborating with related departments and external contractors
  • Analysing problems and abnormal situations that arise in the data centre and finding the root causes
  • Keeping reports on the work of IT data centre support
  • Creating and keeping actual processes/procedures of operation and repairing server equipment
Requirements:
  • University or specialised education
  • Practical experience in planning and solving technical problems
  • Know the principles of the data centre, server, and network equipment
  • Basic knowledge of Linux and the command line
  • Knowledge of the ITIL methodology and operational activities of the technical support service (ITSM)
  • Knowledge in project planning and management
  • Strong written and spoken fluency in English
  • Excel at the advanced level (pivot tables, formulas, lists, graphs)
  • Skills of making presentations using PowerPoint or analogs
