Are you local to Atlanta and looking for your next contract role? Our client, a leading pharmaceutical organization, are recruiting for a Safety Manager to join their newly assembled team and help contribute towards the development of their next core projects.
The Safety Manager shall manage the health, safety, and personal protection of all persons at the site location associated with the new biopharmaceutical drug product manufacturing site in the USA. In addition, the Safety Manager shall manage the site environmental protection requirements. The personal safety of every person on the site is the responsibility of the Safety Manager.
Roles & Responsibility
- Designing and managing the overall project safety program.
- Coordinating and integrating safety programs from multiple companies into a single site safety approach.
- Developing a safety mindset for every person working or visiting the project site.
- Conduct risk reduction reviews and programs to increase safety of all persons.
- Manage safety permits for hot work, crane lifts and other dangerous activities.
- Conduct hazops for process and facility systems.
- Track leading and lagging safety metrics.
- Communicate safety related information
- Manage safety and accident events and reporting of same.
- File health safety and environmental reports with governmental and external agencies
- Develop training curriculum for all project participants.
- Develop and implement disaster plans for the site.
- Develop plans for dangerous materials and operation.
- Over 10 years of experience associated with large scale projects for pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
- Extensive experience developing and managing safety programs in all project stages from design, procurement, construction, commissioning, qualification, and handover to end-user.
- Experience evaluating complex processes and completing hazop evaluations.
- Bachelor of Science in engineering or equivalent.
- Strong proactive leadership, interpersonal, teamwork and organizing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to build a safety culture with safety-oriented mindsets, and behaviors.
- OSHA 500 (Construction) and the OSHA 501 (General Industry) certification; OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer
