Quantity Surveyor - Offshore Wind - 4-Month Contract

What You'll Do

In this role, you will manage various aspects of quantity surveying and contract management across civil construction packages on Hornsea 3. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Contract Management: Lead the timely and accurate implementation of contractual obligations, claim management and Variations/Amendments
  • Cost Forecasting: Develop and manage cost forecasts for input to business case
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong relationships with Project Managers, Planners, Contract Managers, and contractors. Provide concise and consistent communication.
  • Risk Management: Take part in contract and execution risk reviews and maintain risk management updates
  • Cost Control: Minimise project costs and risks while enhancing value for money.

Responsibilities
  • Project Costings: Prepare and analyse project costings, including materials, quantities, labour, and time.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and work schedules, allocate work to subcontractors, and oversee their work.
  • Cost Control: Perform risk, value management, and cost control during construction.
  • Contractual Advice: Provide advice on contractual claims, disputes, and write detailed progress reports.
  • Valuation: Value completed work, oversee bills, and arrange payments.
  • Regulations Awareness: Maintain awareness of statutory requirements, including health and safety regulations.

Requirements: 
  • Methodical and Process-Driven: You excel at gathering and analysing data to accurately assess issues. Your decisions are well-founded, and you can confidently back your judgements.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a solid understanding of infrastructure projects and FIDIC contracts is strongly preferred.
  • Adaptability: You should be able to travel to project worksites in East Anglia and County Durham on a twice per month basis
  • Communication Skills: You are an effective communicator, unafraid to seek assistance when needed.
