Lead Mechanical Engineer - Permanent - Data Centres - Spain 

We are currently partnering with a leading global consulting and engineering company that are looking for experienced data centre professionals to join their team. Our client is working with many major developers in the data centre space and require a Lead Mechanical Engineer for their Spanish location.

Our client offers strategic, tactical, and operational advice to a variety of entities, including colocation data centres, internet service providers, and telecom companies. Their team is composed of experts in diverse fields such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction, civil engineering, structure, building, architecture, fire safety, control engineering, and security technology.

Responsibilities: 
  • Manage and deliver the mechanical work packages in multiple projects
  • Identify the scope, design and management objectives and deliver project documentation, ensuring the quality and flow of information required for contractors, vendors and regulatory authorities
  • Write technical specifications and reports
  • Assist the project manager in the preparation / review of project costs, risk assessments
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships ensuring continuous technical professional development
  • Review contractor pre-qualifications and prepared tender evaluation summaries for tender reviews
  • Evaluate proposals and recommendations to the client regarding vendor selection
  • Write technical specifications for tenders
  • Represent our client on factory acceptance tests, site testing & commissioning activities
  • Communicate status of projects to internal directors and external stakeholders on an ad-hoc and formal basis
Requirements: 
  • A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant working experience in mechanical design and/or installation
  • Previous Data Center experience
  • Good knowledge of standard practices in the design and construction industry
  • A good understanding of the daily operational business of our clients
  • An entrepreneurial, proactive, and flexible attitude
  • A strong command of English and the local office language
