Engineering Safety Manager – Pharmaceuticals – Contract – Remote (US)

Do you want to work with an exciting company who are an established market leader within their unique and niche field? We have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Safety Manager with significant experience delivering EHS advice in a relevant industry. As the Engineering Safety Manager, your main focus will be to drive the delivery of a large new capital invest project for our client at their Indiana campus. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of a new state of the art facility.

Engineering Safety Manager Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
  • Provide Engineering Design Safety Program leadership for the Capital Program, with a primary focus on medium and large projects from concept design, through detailed design.
  • Develop and implement an industry leading design capital project safety management system and associated culture
  • Establish and maintain safety design expectations
  • Provide support to Global EHS in updating Standards, Recommended Practices to ensure alignment with identified Best Practices.
  • Develop and set in place standard ‘best in class’ systems, practices and methodologies in areas such as:
    • Design safety
    • Environmental/sustainability
    • Work environments, health and wellbeing in design
About you:
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Health and Safety, Environment or other related field.
  • 13 + years’ experience in relevant industry e.g., chemical, biological or drug product environment in an EHS or risk management capacity or has worked in engineering firm in design
  • Experience in working and managing in dynamic complex, matrixed business models, and effective in engaging with centre functions.
  • Experience working across disciplines and management in a large and complex organization.
  • Has keen self-awareness with the ability to communicate effectively in all levels of the business.
