EHS Manager - Antwerp, Belgium - Permanent

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive EHS strategy, aligned with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance (conventional) safety culture, ensuring that EHS principles are embedded in all levels of the organisation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, auditors, and internal/external stakeholders on all EHS matters (except nuclear).
  • Ensure compliance with Belgian and EU regulations, including environmental and occupational health & safety, .
  • Establish and oversee a safety management system, ensuring workplace hazards are proactively identified and controlled.
  • Lead and manage the incident investigation process, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary
  • Implement and sustain a culture of continuous improvement by integrating best-in-class safety and environmental practices.
  • Participate in safety assessments of process equipment during the engineering and manufacturing phases, ensuring potential risks are identified and mitigated before implementation.
Required Experience
  • A Master’s Degree in life or environmental sciences, occupational health & safety, engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in EHS Management
  • EHS Prevention Advisor level 2 certification 
  • Experience with pharma environment is a must 
  • Experience with nuclear environment is a plus
  • Experience with building construction is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO standards, EHS regulations, and best practices
  • Good communication skills, efficient communication with internal stakeholders
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English and Dutch
