Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive EHS strategy, aligned with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead initiatives to enhance (conventional) safety culture, ensuring that EHS principles are embedded in all levels of the organisation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, auditors, and internal/external stakeholders on all EHS matters (except nuclear).
- Ensure compliance with Belgian and EU regulations, including environmental and occupational health & safety, .
- Establish and oversee a safety management system, ensuring workplace hazards are proactively identified and controlled.
- Lead and manage the incident investigation process, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary
- Implement and sustain a culture of continuous improvement by integrating best-in-class safety and environmental practices.
- Participate in safety assessments of process equipment during the engineering and manufacturing phases, ensuring potential risks are identified and mitigated before implementation.
- A Master’s Degree in life or environmental sciences, occupational health & safety, engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in EHS Management
- EHS Prevention Advisor level 2 certification
- Experience with pharma environment is a must
- Experience with nuclear environment is a plus
- Experience with building construction is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of ISO standards, EHS regulations, and best practices
- Good communication skills, efficient communication with internal stakeholders
- Fluent oral and written communication skills in English and Dutch
