Construction Director - Pharmaceuticals - 3-Year Contract 

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global pharmaceutical client based in the surroundings of Construction Director. Due to a large capital investment and multiple projects on site, the client is looking for a Construction Director with to join their team.


Responsibilities include:
  • Reporting to the Project Director, the Construction Director / Manger will the lead the Construction Management function across the CAPEX investment throughout the entire project lifecycle
  • This person is an integral part of the Site Leadership Team and will manage Engineering partner and vendor activities in line with the project plans
  • Accountable for construction management for the €2.5 billion investment
  • The Construction Director / Manger will provide Safety leadership within the network, working collaboratively with project EHS Director and the Snr Project Director, to set expectations within the project delivery team, including 3rd party providers
  • Develop and execute one best way strategy to expand the construction management function through recruitment of key individuals and appointment of strategic partners to line with global organisational standards and local regulatory requirements
  • Implement  a best-in-class construction management methodology and approach, covering all aspects of construction management including planning & constructability, delivery model & contracting strategy, contracts management, BIM deployment strategy, risk management, bench-marking, project performance audit, construction quality, governance & reporting, turnover management, field supervision, progress measurement, field variation management, construction completion certification, final account settlement, etc.
  • Lead and implement construction management methodologies throughout the project through education, visualization of value-add and demonstration of business benefit
  • Partner with the Project Controls and Portfolio Management in the Capital Project Team to develop and deliver accurate, timely and value-adding construction management metrics & KPIs
  • Partner with the Design Management function to ensure that construction requirements are embedded in the design and the design delivery process, including constructability, design packages release timing & sequence, lean construction considerations, subcontractor input, turnover management, etc. as required
