Commissioning Lead - Data Centre Project – Commissioning Lead – South Africa

This is your opportunity to work for a global data centre operator that has been recognised for as one of fastest growing and well-known groups in the industry.

Having received significant investment, this established data centre group is in their next phase of growth and require the expertise of a Commissioning Lead. They have established partnerships with many of the well-known technology powerhouses and tailor to their development to their client's requirements.  


Duties: 
  • Instruct, Manage and Monitor our SME commissioning agents to deliver continuous high quality success to our projects through standardised processes and continual improvement.
  • Development, standardisation, and management of the overall commissioning program to ensure that projects are commissioned the same way every time (drive for standardisation that reduces cycle time and cost)
  • Development of project tools, processes, & procedures that ensure the “perfect project” is launched every time (execute, refine, repeat)
  • Manage 3rd Party Commissioning agents and hold them accountable for successful commissioning of the projects
  • Define and develop key business engagement process that enables the leadership team to make quicker decisions (present things in a way so that all leadership has to say is “yes”)
  • Contribute in the development of a comprehensive QA/QC program that prevents problems from occurring, and also identifies risks early in the project life cycle (prevent problems and catch problems sooner)
  • Actively engage with all peer level team members to develop and partner with the development of the bullet points above (includes Operations, Operations Engineering, Procurement, Design Engineering,)
  • Create relevant KPI’s that highlight performance and quality of projects and commissioning agents
 

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, mechanical or controls required
  • >4 years of experience in Data Centre commissioning  required
  • Experience with live operations within a data centre an added benefit
  • Data Centre, high-tech, or rapid growth industry experience is strongly preferred, but not required
