Commercial Manager - Pharmaceuticals - Chicago

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Chicago, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.
 

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver capital projects in accordance with Global Facilities business processes
  • Contribute to the procurement strategy for the capital project which ensure delivery of business objectives
  • Drive & manage coordination and communication of trade contract requirements for capital projects with construction management and A&E firm.
  • Ensure all solutions meet technical requirements and commercial tenders are in accordance with best ethical practices.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal and external parties during contract development and negotiation stages.
  • Prepare and negotiate agreements and contracts so that costs are minimised.
  • Ensure contractual notices and client entitlements are properly administered Re-measuring & valuing variations
  • Report status of current contracts processes to management


Skills and Experience:
  • Excellent communication/facilitation and influencing skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in purchasing or general business but technical qualification in engineering or chemistry are also suitable.
  • 3 – 15 years’ experience in construction contracts sourcing and contracts management
  • Project Management skills
  • Analytical and organizational skills.
  • Project planning and implementation skills.
  • Overall manufacturing & capital projects knowledge.
  • Demonstrated commercial skills.
