Business Development Manager - Cassis, France - Permanent

Our client was established over 100 years ago and are a leading manufacturer of diesel and natural gas engines to the Data Centre, Industrial and Maritime sector.

Specific to the Data Centre sector, our client provides modular and scalable solutions to support diverse market requirements. Their platforms are recognised for their reliability, providing uninterrupted power and business continuity through advanced redundancy configurations.

Responsibilities:
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including DC operators, engineering companies, EPCs, MEPs, industry associations, and potential partners, to gain insights into industry trends and influence decision-making processes.
  • Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, competitors, and opportunities aligned with the company's strategic objectives, particularly in the Datacentres market.
  • Qualification Processes: Working with key companies in different sectors by providing necessary documentation in qualification processes to secure approval for client´s products.
  • Contract and Proposal Development: Lead the creation and negotiation of long-term Framework Agreements (FWAs) with data centre operators, including the preparation of comprehensive power generation proposals tailored to their needs
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies aimed at positioning the company in the early stages of project development (Mkt, presence in events, technical meetings, etc)
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including application engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment of upstream influencing strategies with overall business goals.
  • Material Development: Lead the creation of presentations and other materials to effectively communicate the company's value proposition to external stakeholders.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyse the performance of upstream influencing initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and making necessary adjustments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Proven track record of successful business development field, preferably in the industrial engine or generator sector.
  • Technical knowledge in Power Generation is a plus
  • Experience in Business development activities in DC realm.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels, even C-Level
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset, backed by a solid understanding of market dynamics.
  • Team player and collaborative approach.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed (approx. 40-50%)
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • English proficiency mandatory, French is highly beneficial
