Automation Hardware Technical Office Engineer – 12 Month Contract – Remote (Ohio)

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global pharmaceutical client who, due to a large capital investment has a requirement for a brand-new Automation team. The project at hand is a greenfield API manufacturing facility in Ohio. This is a 12-month remote based contract, with periodic site visits required. As the Automation Hardware Technical Office Engineer, you will work with the client and engineering firms to set up the Automation Hardware Technical Office for this site.

Automation Hardware Technical Office Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain reference architectures for DCS and PLC 
  • Provide guidance to engineering firm on control panel design
  • Liaise with Lilly IDS (IT) and engineering consulting firm on automation network design
  • Develop oversight of site (program) for automation hardware component types and models
  • Develop hardware design requirements and specifications 
  • Maintain hardware design and testing standards and templates
  • Work with other technical offices to develop interfaces and related components required for project(s) 
  • Provide technical support to projects 
  • Audit of projects to ensure compliance with LP1 site hardware standards 
  • Support preparation of Requests for Proposals for the delivery of Automation Hardware and perform technical analysis of received proposals
  • Development of hardware qualification strategy for qualifying automation equipment
About you:
  • BS Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years working experience with DeltaV DCS and Rockwell PLC architectures and control strategy development 
  • Previous Automation Large Project/Program experience/expertise, preferably in lead role 
  • Exceptional teamwork abilities
  • Strong knowledge of GMP’s, regulatory requirements, computer system validation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
