Celebrating 10 years with Matthew Bowls
The year is
2015, and Adele had just released her first album in FOUR years, and Bruno Mars
was leading the pack with Uptown Funk being the most searched song of the year.
Jeremy Clarkson left Top Gear, and water was found on Mars – BUT we found Matt
Bowles!
What is
your role and why did you join QCS Staffing?
I started as a Delivery Executive back in 2015, with my recent experience within real estate. With a previous recruitment background to my advantage, I found myself the perfect fit here
As Global
Business Development manager, I am responsible for maximizing our client
partnerships. This could be anything from new locations/ projects with existing
clients or ensuring our continued growth as a business by introducing QCS to
new organizations and making sure that we are a go to provider.
I joined
because I was looking for a company that was fast paced and energetic that would
allow me to work internationally while also being local. Recruitment is a fast-paced
industry but QCS has a great welcoming, family approach, good growth
opportunities and the chance to work on global projects with the benefit of
being local to me.
What do you love most about your job?
One of the parts that I love most about my job has got to be meeting clients and travelling. I have been lucky to travel a lot since joining QCS visiting a number of cities across Europe. It remains such a key part of what I do, after all people are at the centre of our business. I also love how different each day can be, I get to feel the short-term quick wins but also enjoy working on long term projects that can take months if not years to develop but seeing those turn into something is quite rewarding!
“Hard to believe it’s been 10 years — though anyone who’s seen Matt at a company event or expo knows he’s never one to blend into the background. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Matt for the last eight of those years, across different teams and plenty of client meetings. From joining me on one of my very first business trips to Copenhagen to tackling complex projects within Energies and Life Sciences, Matt’s always brought energy, humour, and a touch of theatrical flair to the table.
He’s easily one of the most knowledgeable consultants I’ve worked with — basically our walking, talking encyclopaedia of clients and project history. If you need to know what happened on a deal in 2016, chances are Matt’s got the answer.
Here’s to a decade of dedication, sharp thinking, and sharp outfits. Congrats Matt — looking forward to the next chapter.” – Denis Draia
What is your proudest moment at QCS Staffing?
QCS really takes the time to notice hard work, over the last ten years, I have been fortunate enough to have achieved numerous awards including ‘Salesperson of the Year, Highest Value Placement and ‘Business Winner of the Year’ twice!
I have played a key role in bringing on a large number of new clients, , opening doors into new markets and locations, this is an ongoing achievement of mine!
Working here has enabled me to achieve a number of things outside of work, I am extremely grateful for the opportunities that I have had here and hope to continue these into the future.
Do you have any words of wisdom for anyone wanting to join QCS Staffing?
My best advice would be to just do it! We are fortunate enough to work in industries with significant growth and continued investment and if you work hard then QCS is somewhere that you can truly build a successful career, whilst having fun at the same time! It is important to celebrate the wins, as dealing with people can come with its challenges, keep a thick skin and remember that the result is always rewarding.
“I have had the pleasure of working with Matthew for the last 10 years and can honestly say it has been great fun. His professional approach and continuous drive for excellence and quality have always ensured the service delivered to his clients and candidate is second to none. Keep up the great work Matt and here’s to the next 10!!” – Ben Alger
What do you think is the reason for you staying with QCS Staffing for 10 Years?
A big part of it has been the people and being part of the significant growth the company has been on and seeing how we have developed over time. I love both the company and the people I work with and have carved out a successful career due to the growth opportunities that have been available as part of this.
I’d like to say a massive thank you to you the Board and Senior Leadership team, and to everyone who I have worked with both past and present, clients, candidates or colleagues. You have all helped shape the last 10 years – here’s to the next milestone!
