At QCS Staffingwe believe in celebrating the milestones of our dedicated team members. Today we are celebrating Wendy Pearson , who has been an integral part of our company since the year 2000! The year that reality TV show ‘Big Brother’ was first launched and the Nokia 3310 stole everyone’s hearts with the beloved ‘Snake’ game! Although the Euros was an absolute disaster in the year 2000, our year was saved by the beloved Wendy joining the team!

How did you get started at QCS Staffing?

Funny story, I first found out about QCS Staffing (which at the time was known as Quantum), through a girl that I used to play rugby with. She asked me if I fancied getting into recruitment and I decided to take her up on the offer! I had the strangest interview, one guy decided to do some meditation; and on my first day I was thrown in at the deep end, making my first call to a Java Developer (with Interest Rate Derivatives) and I didn’t have a clue  what I was talking about - unlike the training and interview process we have now. Since then I have never looked back and seen us grow into the company that we are today!

What do you love most about your job?

Although it sounds cliché, the part that I love most about my job is the people and the relationships that I’ve built up over time! The trips to Portugal, the rewards we get, trips to meet our contractors at Christmas etc. It’s a great place to work and I’ve made some life-long friends as well as some of the great contractors we get to work with!

From a more technical perspective, I like the variety that my role offers and has done over my time of working here at QCS. I have a real passion and interest in pharmaceutical projects, which helps motivate my drive to want to fill these roles!

“I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Wendy since I joined QCS.  She has exceptional industry and sector knowledge, and her ability to connect with colleagues, contractors and clients is second to none. Wendy consistently brings energy, insight, and a profound sense of humour to the team - armed and ready with a perfectly well-timed one-liner every time!!  Huge congratulations Wendy on celebrating an epic 25 years at Q!”

What has been your proudest moment at QCS Staffing?

To pick just one moment would be hard – we’ve accomplished so much as a company over the past few years! Overall, I think one of the proudest moments would be breaking into the pharmaceutical sector and helping create out pharma database, working with David on the Wyeth project in Dublin. It really was an exciting time, sourcing candidates from the UK into contracting over in Dublin - I’m proud of working with Dave and how we helped towards setting up the Lifesciences division into what it is today.

I have also been lucky enough to achieve numerous awards over the years and attend multiple awards nights/ presentations. My most fond award was probably’ Employee’s Employee of the Year’ – which is always an honour to win, as well as the ‘Lifetime Achiever’ award which is chosen by our CEO’s, Spencer and Dave.

This industry can be tough – we have always managed to power through some challenging times and come out stronger! I will continue to be proud of moments like this…

“I’ve had the absolute privilege of working alongside Wendy for 16 years, and from the very beginning, I knew I was learning from one of the best. Her knowledge, dedication, and sheer brilliance at what she does are nothing short of inspiring. The work she has accomplished and the success she has achieved over the past 25 years are truly remarkable.

But Wendy is so much more than just fantastic at her job. She is the heartbeat of our team – the one who brings laughter into every day with her hilarious stories.”

Words of Wisdom

My biggest piece of advice to anyone looking to start their career at QCS Staffing is to work hard and do your research! Also, if you’re within the role as DE to see it from your perspective if you were that candidate going for this job. What would you want to see in the interview prep and information on the job description etc don’t cut corners.

Knowledge is key and develops overtime but doing your own research and really growing a passion for our company and the industry that you recruit in can be a massive help.

What’s the reason behind working here for 25 years?

It has gone SO fast! It shows that enjoying what you do can really make time fly. I have met the best people and had so many laughs. I can’t wait to continue to support QCS with the many more accomplishments that are ahead of us!
