Nathan's 10 Years With QCS Staffing

Let’s take a trip back to 2015, when the song  ‘Uptown Funk’ was at number one and Zayn Malik had just announced his departure from boy band One Direction. Queen Elizabeth II became Great Britain’s longest reigning monarch in history, and we gained our own monarch … Nathan Mann!

How has your journey progressed
during your time at QCS Staffing?

My current role at QCS Staffing is ‘Division Head of Data Centres & IT’. I oversee and support our sales team, from junior to experienced consultants. Before getting into sales, I started off as a delivery executive for a short period within the Renewables team.  I then embarked on my sales journey within the energy from waste (EFW) sector. This was a new area for QCS, which we developed from the ground up! I met some wonderful people across the industry and some that I still keep in touch with!

My next steps led me to become a Sales Team Lead within our Data Centre industry, managing a small team at the time, which has now grown (and continues to grow).

I now direct my attention more towards the development and training of the team, as opposed to client base. However, I still get to travel and meet new people across the world. But the main focus is development!

What do you love most about your job?

Over my time spent with QCS Staffing so far, I have been lucky enough to go on many work trips to visit clients in various locations. I have been to places such as Milan, Madrid, Paris and more – but my favorite location is Copenhagen! I love our clients there as well as the culture, which I feel is similar to what we have here in the UK.

This role allows me to help others really succeed within their roles, which is one of the most enjoyable parts of my job – I get a real buzz being able to see my colleagues go on holiday, buy houses, and receive promotions due to their hard work and training.

‘I’ve been lucky enough to work with Nathan side by side for the last 9 years in client & candidate facing roles and now leading our Data Centre & IT division. He is truly awesome at what he does and his ability to stay calm in challenging situations has always amazed me.

Nath is great fun to be around and keeps us all thoroughly entertained with his rubbish jokes and office banter! Thank you for all of your support and advice since I joined QCS and congratulations on your 10-year work anniversary, here’s to the next 10!’

What is your proudest moment at QCS Staffing?

My answer to this is quite similar to the previous question – I feel most proud when seeing others succeed within their careers and enjoy being part of their journey to do so. Alongside this, I fondly remember winning ‘Manager of the Year’ on my first year of management. This was a huge boost in confidence, alongside winning other titles such as Sales Consultant of the year and the award for the ‘Fastest Growing Platform’.

Do you have any words of wisdom for anyone joining QCS Staffing?

My biggest piece of advice would be to listen, learn and take in as much information as possible. Try our way of creating success and make use of the fabulous training that’s on offer not just at the start of your career, but throughout.

Enjoy the ride but more importantly, make sure you enjoy your job! Like in any job, there’s moments that can and will be tough – but it’s important to remember that these are only temporary and you will always come out better on the other side!

‘Nathan is one of the best recruitment specialists that I have ever worked with. Clients love him, his team value his input, and I trust him to lead and continue to grow our Data Centre division. Congratulations on 10 years’ service my friend, and here is to many more successful years ahead!’

What do you enjoy most about QCS Staffing?

The culture, people and friendly working environment is definitely a big reason for my 10 years at QCS Staffing. The company is so supportive and generous towards both your work life and home life, which can be rare to find within the recruitment industry.

I want to thank everyone that I’ve been involved with both internally and externally. I am grateful to everyone who has offered me support and trusted me over the last 10 years and I look forward to receiving my chocolate cake!
