Project Manager – Data Centres – Contract

Our client, an experienced principal contractor who partners with some of the biggest data centre providers in the market, are currently seeking a brand-new Project Manager. The project at hand is based in Manchester, and long-term future work is expected in the area.

Achieving a huge turnover of over 200 million GBP in 2033, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a company with long-standing market experience and an ambition to grow even further in 2023.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a strategic approach to project planning, considering  logistics,  operational resilience, redundancy, phasing, and risk mitigation in live data centres
• Lead or support estimating, cost planning, and technical review of scopes at pre‑contract stage
• Lead procurement of major plant and equipment (UPS, generators, switchgear, CRACs, containment, controls)
• Take full responsibility for safe delivery of works within live, mission‑critical environments
• Deliver full project handover including O&M manuals, as‑builts, training, warranties, and spares

Requirements:

• Craft Background or HNC / HND / Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline
• SMSTS (essential)
• CSCS (Manager or equivalent)
• Strategic thinker with a proactive, risk‑aware mindset
• Confident to represent the company in client interactions.
