Quantity Surveyor - US, Ohio - 12 Month Contract

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive cost control and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support all aspects of contract administration, including preparation of RFQs, bid reviews, contract issuance, change management, and claims
  • Manage and track change orders, ensuring timely review and resolution with contractors and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and earned value analysis
  • Liaise closely with project managers, engineering, procurement, and finance teams to ensure alignment on budget and cost performance
  • Monitor contractor performance against contract terms and identify commercial risks
  • Participate in regular progress meetings, offering insights on cost trends and risk mitigation
  • Support procurement strategy, scope alignment, and subcontractor negotiations as required
 Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Requires extensive experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably on large-scale CAPEX or life sciences/industrial projects
  • Demonstrated contract administration experience in a construction or EPCM environment
  • Familiarity with various contract forms (e.g., GMP, EPCM, lump sum)
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities
