Mechanical / Piping Lead  - Pharmaceuticals - Ohio - 24 month contract

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical / Piping Lead to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and oversee the installation of complex process piping systems in compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASME BPE, cGMP).
  • Coordinate with process engineers, automation teams, and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency.
  • Apply pressure to piping contractors to drive schedule and plan weeks and months ahead.
  • Provide creative and innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Manage quality assurance processes, including fabrication, installation, testing, and compliance.
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams, ensuring high standards of technical excellence and project delivery.
  • Oversee commissioning, qualification, and validation of piping systems, ensuring successful startup and operation.
 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Over 15 years of experience in mechanical and piping engineering on large-scale capital projects (over $150m).
  • Extensive experience with process piping and pharmaceutical industry requirements.
  • Proven experience in driving schedules and planning ahead with contractors.
  • Creative and innovative approach to engineering solutions.
  • Experience on both client and EPCM sides.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and coordination skills.
