Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee and manage all construction activities related to the Parenterals manufacturing area, including cleanrooms, vial filling lines, isolators, and lyophilization equipment.
  • Ensure all construction and installation work adheres strictly to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations, sterile protocols, and quality assurance standards required for pharmaceutical production.
  • Lead the day-to-day execution of the workstream, including managing schedules, budgets, and contractor performance to ensure the project stays on track.
  • Work closely with process engineers, architects, and commissioning teams to seamlessly integrate the facility's complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems with the specialised process equipment.
  • Oversee the construction and commissioning of cleanrooms and the integration of filling lines, ensuring compliance with strict cGMP regulations.
  • Manage the installation of clean utilities (like WFI and purified water systems) and a variety of piping systems, including process and utility piping.
  • Supervise the installation of intricate HVAC systems to maintain precise temperature and pressure controls within cleanroom environments.
  • Direct electrical and instrumentation (E&I) work, including power distribution, control systems, and critical equipment hook-ups.
  • Supervise all civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) work.
Key requirements include:
  • Extensive experience in managing large-scale construction projects, specifically within the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry is advantageous.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with building and commissioning facilities for sterile or aseptic manufacturing, including cleanrooms and specialised equipment is advantageous.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading major workstreams on construction projects with budgets in the multi-billion euro range.
  • Deep understanding of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) and other regulatory requirements from bodies like the FDA and EMA.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, contractors, and technicians in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
