This is a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Cost Controller to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in , this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads all project cost control activities supporting various site capital projects for the BioPharma campus.
- Expected to work with A/E, CM, CQV firms, and other vendors/contractors as needed, to leverage or align cost control processes and deliverables with owner’s project services operating model
- Supports the procurement process, working pre-contract with client Procurement as required and ensuring budget checks are carried out prior to committing purchase orders and contracts. Supports bid analysis in conjunction with GERE estimating resources along with any value engineering exercises
- Responsible for the cost reporting and forecasting processes on site projects, including change management and internal resource forecasting and control. Supports change order evaluations in conjunction with GERE estimating resources
- Responsible for monitoring project progress, productivity, and earned value; identifying and communicating deviations from plan.
- Responsible for reviewing applications for payment / invoices in accordance with client requirements, enabling verified and timely payment to suppliers. Facilitates agreement of the final cost account with key members of the supply chain
- Contributes to the risk management process (led by the PM) to ensure risks are correctly identified and evaluated / quantified, thus informing contingency requirements moving forwards
- Establishes and maintain SAP WBS for cost accounting purposes
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with project controls in a construction environment with pharmaceutical project experience
- Experience of valuations, administration of sub-contractor accounts and variations.
- Understanding of construction techniques and specifications
- Experience of working within a team environment
- Successful candidates will have at least 10 years' experience in all facets of cost controls.
- Experience of handling large value contracts or subcontracts expected
- Customer & delivery focused
- Meet deadlines without the need for prompting
- Ability to prioritize and work autonomously
- Lots of energy and motivation
- An ability to multitask
- Good communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- Good understanding of business as well as financial issues
- Good interpersonal skills to work with cross functional capital project teams
