Grey Utilities Engineer - US, North Carolina - 12 Month Contract

This is a fantastic opportunity for a This is a fantastic opportunity for a Grey Utilities Engineer to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in North Carolina, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.

What you'll do:
  • Serve as the Design SME for all grey utility systems across the facility, including chilled water, plant steam, compressed air, HVAC for GMP areas, vacuum systems, and related supporting infrastructure.
  • Participate in selection and management of engineering firms, contractors, and vendors responsible for grey utility systems.
  • Serve as owners rep to ensure all grey utility designs meet regulatory, safety, operational, and scalability requirements.
  • Collaborate with process engineering, facility engineering, quality, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration with clean utilities and manufacturing systems.
  • Participate in construction, installation, and commissioning/qualification (C&Q) activities for all grey utility systems.
What you'll need:
  • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences facility utility system design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Proven expertise in grey utility systems, including chilled water, plant steam, compressed air, HVAC, vacuum, and environmental control systems in GMP environments.
  • Excellent understanding of GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements for utility systems.
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams and collaborate with contractors in complex capital project environments.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills — able to collaborate effectively with diverse technical teams.
