We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global pharmaceutical client based in the surroundings of Barceloneta. Due to a large capital investment and multiple projects on site, the client is looking for an Electrical SME to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Support the installation, inspection, and commissioning of electrical systems (e.g., power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and controls).
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation to ensure proper implementation.
- Monitor contractor work for compliance with project standards, codes, safety regulations, and schedules.
- Serve as a liaison between engineering design teams, EPCM contractors, and field construction teams to resolve technical issues.
- Track and document field changes and redlines for as-built drawing updates.
- Participate in daily/weekly coordination meetings with trades and project stakeholders.
- Provide input on electrical field progress, material readiness, and installation sequencing to support project planning.
- Support FATs, SATs, and energization planning alongside commissioning teams.
- Identify and report field quality or safety concerns, and support issue resolution promptly.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred – but if you’ve got solid field experience, we’d love to hear from you.
- Hands-on experience in electrical field engineering, ideally on large-scale industrial or pharmaceutical construction projects.
- A strong grasp of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety standards.
- Proven success working in fast-paced environments with multiple contractors on high-value capital projects.
- Familiarity with electrical systems used in GMP-regulated manufacturing facilities (API experience is a plus).
- Experience working within EPCM or owner-representative project structures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively across teams.
- Previous involvement in pharmaceutical, chemical, or biotech facility builds.
- A solid understanding of GMP-compliant infrastructure and validation processes.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, and how they integrate with automation teams.
- Comfortable using construction management tools like Procore, BIM 360, or Bluebeam.
