We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global pharmaceutical client based in the surroundings of Frankfurt. Due to a large capital investment and multiple projects on site, the client is looking for a Construction Manager (Logistics) to join their team.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement detailed plans for site access, traffic flow, and delivery routes. Coordinate with local authorities and project stakeholders to manage road closures and ensure safe and efficient movement.
- Oversee the scheduling, receipt, and storage of all construction materials and equipment. Establish organised, secure, and accessible on-site storage areas and implement protocols to prevent damage or loss.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of on-site construction plant and equipment, from delivery and installation to maintenance and eventual removal. Ensure a reliable fuel supply and servicing schedule.
- Plan and manage the logistics for the construction workforce, including transportation arrangements, site inductions, access control, and the setup and maintenance of on-site welfare facilities.
- Create and execute a comprehensive waste management strategy, including the planning for removal of all construction waste and implementation of recycling protocols to meet project sustainability goals.
- Oversee the implementation of all site security measures, including fencing, CCTV, and access control systems, working in close collaboration with the project's health and safety teams to ensure full compliance.
- Integrate the logistics plan with the overall project master schedule. Act as the central communication point for all logistics-related issues, liaising with suppliers, contractors, and project managers.
- Large-Scale Construction Logistics: Proven experience managing the logistics for major construction projects, ideally with budgets in the multi-billion euro range.
- Regulated Industry Experience: Previous experience in a highly regulated construction environment (e.g., life sciences, nuclear, petrochemicals, chemical, data centre), with a strong understanding of complex safety and security protocols.
- Planning and Operations: Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, scheduling, and on-site operational management for all aspects of a large construction site.
- Leadership and Communication: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a large team of logistics coordinators, site staff, and contractors.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with logistics management software and tools for tracking deliveries, managing inventory, and optimising site traffic.
