Capex Procurement Specialist - Life Sciences - 12-month contract - Puerto Rico 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Capex Procurement Specialist to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Puerto Rico, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.

Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for contract administration, supplier management, and sourcing activities for large-scale pharmaceutical construction and capital projects.
  • Focus on Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) contracts, ensuring procurement processes align with project schedules, budget constraints, and compliance requirements. 
  • Work closely with project controls, engineering, construction management (CM), and finance teams to oversee supplier performance, negotiate complex construction contracts, and mitigate procurement risks.
Skills & Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in CAPEX procurement, construction contracting, or EPCM contract management within large-scale capital projects.
  • Strong experience with construction contracts, supplier negotiations, and project execution in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical preferred).
  • Expertise in EPCM contracts, working with general contractors, subcontractors, and engineering firms to ensure seamless execution.
  • Proven ability to manage procurement and contracts for mega capital projects ($500M+) while maintaining compliance with construction industry regulations.
  • Strong risk management, change order administration, and claims resolution experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience collaborating with engineering, project controls, automation, and finance teams.
