Business Intelligence Engineer – IT – long term contract – Valencia or  Remote

Our client, an international IT service provider, is seeking an Business Intelligence Engineer to join them as a contractor, with the option to work fully remote or onsite in Valencia, Spain. Starting with an initial 6-month contract, multiple extensions are expected and there is great, long-term potential. the average stay for a contractor at this client is +3 years.

Interviews will take place in November and December for a January 2025 start.

Business Intelligence Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Data cleaning and processing and Data warehousing solutions
  • Supervise and develop extraction, transformation and load (ETL) processes
  • Data modelling and Data mining
  • Storytelling and visualization
  • Running proof of concepts and investigating opportunities for the use of innovative solutions to help define the strategic direction and platforms
  • Assisting to define the data engineering strategy, solutions and roadmaps, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance goals;
  • Development of data consumption and data storage platforms (e.g. Google Cloud Storage, Big Query, SQL, NoSQL, Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Hadoop, Oracle, Teradata etc).
  • Development of data manipulation services using BI best practices (e.g. machine learning, stored procedures, USQL, TSQL, ETL, scripting (Python or R) etc).
  • Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts
  • Creating reports and dashboards using leading edge visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau or Qlik.
  • Working with the team to produce end-to-end solutions for new and existing projects.
About you:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Management, Information Systems and other related fields is required. 
  • 2+ years of experience with BI tools as Power BI, Qlik or Tableau
  • 3+ years of experience with data integration, cleansing, ETL related areas.
  • 3+ years of experience with Reporting tools as Reporting Services, Business Object or Cognos
  • 3+ years of strong experience writing Programs using PL/SQL and queries using SQL.
