Automation Backbone Engineer - Pharmaceuticals - 12-Month Contract 

Our client is a global CDMO in pharmaceutical manufacturing providing process development and cGMP production in cell culture, microbial fermentation, and gene therapies.

With continued organisational growth and a considerable amount of investment across the portfolio and capital programme.

They have an extremely exciting opportunity for a Automation Backbone Engineer to form support a new large scale manufacturing facility being built in the UK.


Responsibilities:
  • Install and test new hardware including Servers, switches, and other IT/Automation server room rack components in both data centers and manufacturing area comm. rooms (IDF rooms).
  • Install and test necessary application software on the new systems, including but not limited to DeltaV.
  • Understanding of new HCI Infrastructure (VRTX would also be acceptable).
  • Have an understand of DeltaV specific database setup and an understanding of how data flows work.
  • Troubleshoot networking and configuration issues with the new installations.
  • Develop and execute GMP test protocols pertaining to the DeltaV backbone systems.
  • Configure necessary interfaces to other network applications on existing manufacturing networks.
  • Support project commissioning through troubleshooting of network and instrumentation communications issues.

Skills:
  • 4+ yrs, minimum experience in Automation Engineering and/or IT systems installations and maintenance.
  • Experience in IT systems hardware applications and server software (e.g., VMWare, HyperV, etc.).
  • Understanding of manufacturing network architecture and applications.
  • DeltaV software experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of GxP regulatory framework.
  • Experience in authoring and/or executing test protocols, GMP/Pharma experience strongly preferred.
