Quantity Surveyor - US, Ohio - 12 Month Contract

Be part of a next-generation pharmaceutical project that’s transforming how medicines are made.

We’re supporting a major new-build facility in Ohio, a multi-billion-dollar investment designed to push the boundaries of science and engineering. We’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team and help deliver this world-class program.

What you'll do:

  • Manage all aspects of cost control and commercial management for assigned work packages.
  • Conduct field-based verification of contractor progress and quantities to support pay applications.
  • Review, negotiate, and recommend approval or rejection of contractor change orders and claims.
  • Provide detailed cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Work closely with procurement and project controls to align contracts, budgets, and schedules.
  • Ensure value engineering opportunities are identified and implemented where practical.
  • Support dispute resolution by preparing clear, auditable commercial records.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the owner, ensuring contracts are executed in line with market benchmarks and project objectives.
What you'll need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Requires extensive cost/commercial management experience on large CAPEX projects.
  • Extensive field-based experience validating contractor progress and cost claims.
  • Background in pharmaceutical/API manufacturing, biotech, food processing, semiconductor, or other highly regulated/complex industrial sectors.
  • Strong negotiation skills with EPCMs, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency with cost management systems and reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Prism, Power BI, Excel).
