Process Engineering Lead (Downstream) - US, North Carolina - End of Year Contract

What you’ll do:

• Serve as the technical SME for downstream process equipment, supporting process design and engineering decisions across all project phases (concept, FEED, detailed design, construction, CQV).
• Lead the design review and specification of downstream unit operations, including:
• Chromatography systems (e.g., Protein A, ion exchange, polishing)
• Tangential flow filtration (TFF) / ultrafiltration-diafiltration (UF/DF)

What you’ll need:

• Degree is preferred
• Extensive experience in biopharmaceutical drug substance manufacturing, with a strong focus on downstream processing.
• Proven experience supporting large-scale CAPEX projects, ideally in greenfield facility builds.
• Deep technical expertise in downstream unit operations and equipment design (chromatography, filtration, viral clearance, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience working through full project lifecycle (design → CQV → start-up).
