Mechanical SME - Puerto Rico - 12-month contract

Be part of a next-generation pharmaceutical project that’s transforming how medicines are made.

We’re supporting a major new-build facility in Puerto Rico, a multi-billion-dollar investment designed to push the boundaries of science and engineering. We’re looking for a Mechanical SME to join the team and help deliver this world-class program.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of mechanical design packages for utility systems, ensuring compliance with project specs and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare detailed scope of work documents to support tendering and procurement activities.
  • Create and review engineering deliverables including P&IDs, equipment layouts, utility distribution plans, and system schematics.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to identify optimal mechanical solutions.
  • Integrate energy efficiency and sustainability into all design work.
  • Collaborate closely with process engineering, construction, and procurement teams to align utility system requirements with overall project goals.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience in mechanical design and construction, with a focus on utility systems.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical utilities including chilled water, steam and condensate, compressed air and gas, and water treatment systems.
  • Proficient in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
  • Familiarity with energy-efficient and sustainable utility design.
  • Understanding of tendering and procurement processes in capital projects.
  • Knowledge of construction methodologies and site coordination practices.
