Embedded Firmware Engineer – Cambridge, UK – 2 Year Contract – Life Sciences

Our client is a global leader in pharmaceutical innovation, specialising in the development and manufacture of cutting-edge drugs. As they continue to grow, they’re seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to support their dynamic team and drive forward groundbreaking projects in Cambridge.

What you’ll deliver:

• Design, develop, debug, and optimise embedded firmware for low-power STM32-based IoT devices and connected products.
• Integrate GNSS modules, LoRa/LoRaWAN communications, and hardware peripherals to deliver robust, production-ready solutions.
• Develop and maintain embedded software within an RTOS environment, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary software, hardware, systems, integration, and test teams to deliver high-quality products across the full development lifecycle.

What you’ll need:

• Extensive embedded software engineering experience developing embedded systems using C/C++.
• Strong hands-on experience with STM32 microcontrollers, embedded debugging, and low-power battery-operated devices.
• Experience integrating GNSS modules, LoRa or LoRaWAN communications, embedded peripherals, and RTOS-based applications (preferably FreeRTOS).
• Ability to independently deliver production-ready firmware, with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
