Cost Engineer - Puerto Rico - 12 Month Contract 

Be part of a next-generation pharmaceutical project that’s transforming how medicines are made.

We’re supporting a major new-build facility in Puerto Rico, a multi-billion-dollar investment designed to push the boundaries of science and engineering. We’re looking for a Cost Engineer to join the team and help deliver this world-class program.

Responsibilities:

  • Support project cost control activities for the biologics capital project.
  • Work closely with A/E, CM, CQV firms, and vendors/contractors to align cost control processes with the owner’s project services model.
  • Assist in the procurement process, ensuring budget checks are performed before purchase orders and contracts are finalized. Support bid analysis with estimating resources and participate in value engineering exercises.
  • Support cost reporting and forecasting processes for site projects, including change management and internal resource forecasting.
  • Review and verify applications for payment and invoices to ensure compliance with client requirements, facilitating timely payments to suppliers.
  • Participate in final cost account reconciliation with key members of the supply chain.
Skills and Experience:
  • Requires extensive experience in project controls within a construction environment; pharmaceutical project experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with valuations, sub-contractor accounts, and contract variations.
  • Understanding of construction techniques and specifications.
  • Experience working within a team and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Familiarity with financial and business issues is a plus.

What you'll need: B.Sc/B.Eng. degree in engineering discipline, with particular emphasis mechanical or process engineering.Extensive experience from biotechnology or pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing/CQV environment.Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative and proactively respond to business needs.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Familiar with Delta-V & Navis Works an advantage.
