Subcontracting Manager - Leipzig, Germany - 12-Months Contract 

Are you a Subcontracting Manager or Quantity Surveyor looking for your next contract role? We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our valued client in Leipzig on an initial 12-month contract.

Experienced at delivering highly efficient projects for state-of-the-art Data Centres, Pharma, Semi- Conductor infrastructures around the world, our client is a global leader in design, engineering and delivery of facilities for high tech industries. This is your chance to join an innovative, market leading data centre company as their newest Subcontracting Manager or Quantity Surveyor. With growth plans to almost double their already huge turnover, there could not be a better time to join!


Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with Engineering team to provide design documents to be incorporated into the tender documents
  • Ability to extract quantities from design document and create a Bill of Quantities/Pricing Document.
  • Understand tendering based on re-measurable quantities and fixed rates to be used for the duration of contract.   This is typically used when the design is incomplete, and the project schedule requires the subcontractor to commence.
  • Understand and apply the difference between a re-measurable with fixed rates and a lump sum contract.  
  • Administration of a subcontract package under an Open Book arrangement with the client.
  • When the tender docs are returned from market, completion of a tender commercial analysis including a side-by-side comparison for each line item within the Bill of Quantities/Pricing Document.
  • Generate list of commercial clarifications based on returned bids.
  • Complete commercial negotiations Subcontractor and Client facing.

  • Individual who can take ownership and responsibility for the tasks they are working on.
  • When faced with a problem, options are considered, and possible solutions are also presented.
  • Aware that mistakes can happen, don’t try to hide it but actively seek to recover the error in an open transparent manner.
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly while working in a multi-disciplined professional environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and react in a positive way.
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Personable with problem solving attitude.
