Procurement Specialist – Subcontract Focus

Our client, a global pharmaceutical manufacturing organization are looking for a talented Procurement Specialist – Subcontract Focus to join their expanding team. With continued organizational growth and considerable investment across their portfolio and capital programs this is an extremely exciting opportunity to contribute towards their brand-new manufacturing facility on the East Coast of the United States.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Provide collaboration and input to subcontracting strategies to include bid lists, pre-qualification, compensation, award basis, risk management and other information to support commercial recommendations.
- Review and approval of subcontract award recommendations, change order requests, and other commercial actions to ensure compliance inclusive of negotiating and validating pricing and ensuring adherence of prime contract flow down terms and conditions.
- Review and monitor commercial action item requests and ensure timely processing.
- Collaborate with respective Building Project Managers (PMs) and Responsible Engineers/Work Package Owners (WPOs) to ensure the proposed scope and schedule are acceptable.
- Coordinate with other project disciplines as needed based on the specific request presented.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, deliverables and progress as well as EPCM subcontract administration and if needed, provide feedback based on a professional review of the information presented. Escalate any issues to the Project Procurement Lead as required.
- Evaluate subcontractor commercial offerings and negotiate better pricing or provide other means of savings/value to the project.
- Attend and participate in weekly subcontractor meetings and monthly sponsor meetings
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat
- Previous experience in large-scale construction project work environments
- Knowledge of market research
- BS in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or relevant field
- Basic Requirements
- Work experience as a Procurement Specialist, or similar role
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures
- Negotiation and communication skills
- Good interpersonal/Team skills
- Punctual on-site attendance
