Procurement Specialist- Purchasing Focus

Our client, a global pharmaceutical manufacturing organization are looking for a talented Procurement Specialist to join their expanding team. With continued organizational growth and considerable investment across their portfolio and capital programs this is an extremely exciting opportunity to contribute towards their brand-new manufacturing facility on the East Coast of the United States.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Collaboration and Input to Purchasing strategies to include Bid lists, pre-qualifications, compensation, award basis, risk management and provide recommendations.
- Monitor progress and input to purchase order deliverables
- Review and approval of purchase orders, change orders for commercial compliance to include negotiating and validating pricing and ensure prime contract flow down terms and conditions.
- Review Track purchasing (orders) and contract approvals and ensure timely processing
- Collaborate with Building PM’s to ensure purchase order award timeline meet project schedule
- Monitor Vendor and Subcontract performance as well as Buyer and Subcontract Administrator and challenge and elevate issues as required to Procurement Lead
- Research potential vendors for owner purchases
- Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
- Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm change orders
- Signing and reviewing purchasing agreements with vendors, monitoring their performance and renegotiating contracts
- Monitor/track Agreements to ensure agreement value is not exceeded prior to amendment
- Reviewing, approving, and routing purchase order documentation, punchlist, and invoicing for final closeout
- Attend and participate in weekly vendor meetings and monthly sponsor meetings
- Evaluate supply chain solutions to avoid potential project delays
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of market research
- Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or relevant field
- Previous Biopharmaceutical experience
- Work experience as a Procurement Specialist, or similar role
- Solid organizational skills
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures
- Negotiation and communication skills
- Good interpersonal/Team skills
- Punctual on-site attendance
