Procurement Lead - Pharmaceuticals - Ohio - 24 month contract

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Lead to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the procurement of construction services, including contract negotiation, vendor selection, and award processes.
  • Collaborate with the equipment procurement lead to ensure alignment and integration across procurement activities.
  • Monitor and manage contract performance, ensuring compliance with terms, budget, and quality standards.
  • Challenge change orders and invoices, applying a strong, assertive approach to negotiations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for all procurement activities, ensuring transparency and accountability.
 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration preferred.
  • Over 15 years of experience in procurement and contract management, with a focus on large-scale capital projects (over $150m).
  • Extensive experience owning EPCM/Subcontractor contracts and working on GMAX contracts (Guaranteed Max Price).
  • Proven track record in challenging change orders and invoices.
  • Strong, assertive personality with the ability to ask difficult questions and engage in challenging conversations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage interdependencies effectively.
