Piping/Weld Inspector - US, Ohio - 12 Month Contract

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Piping/Weld Inspector to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed inspections of welding work in accordance with ASME BPE, ASME B31.3, and project-specific codes and procedures.
  • Conduct both visual inspections and NDE review (e.g., radiographic, ultrasonic, dye penetrant).
  • Review weld logs, documentation, and ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Provide verification and assurance that work is being completed to spec — “trust but verify” is key.
  • Liaise with Quality, Engineering, and Construction Management teams.
  • Document findings, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
  • Help develop and improve QA processes related to pipe welding.
Skills and Experience:
  • Valid CWI certification or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience working with ASME BPE, B31.3, and related piping standards.
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical, speciality chemical, or EV battery sectors (regulated environments).
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to escalate appropriately.
