Piping Field Engineer - US, Ohio - 12 Month Contract

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Piping/Plumbing Field Engineer to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as Owner’s Representative to oversee plumbing contractor's work.
  • Ensure compliance with design plans, specs, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Perform field documentation: track construction issues, RFIs, plan deviations using site
  • systems.
  • Coordinate with designers and trade leads to resolve system integration issues.
  • Oversee and document system testing, commissioning, and functional performance.
  • Conduct field walkdowns to confirm lockout/tagout and safe energy states before work
  • starts.
  • Review and advise on Change Orders and cost implications.
  • Ensure that plumbing work meets schedule and quality expectations.
Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive years in a Field Engineer or similar role, preferably in pharma, biotech, or industrial
  • construction.
  • Hands-on experience in large-scale plumbing or piping installations
  • Deep understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and code requirements.
  • Strong familiarity with MEP coordination,especially piping/plumbing integration.
  • Proficiency with field documentation tools (RFIs, deviations, site logs).
  • Knowledge of cost estimating, change management, and project controls.
  • Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical documents.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Safety-conscious mindset and quality-first approach.
