Mechanical Project Engineer - Paris, France - 12 Months Contract

Our client, a developer of multi-customer and hyper scale data centres in Europe and Asia-Pacific, have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their current project in Paris. They have a strong portfolio of constructing world-class critical infrastructure and are chosen time and again for their resilient power and colling, robust securing and sophisticated monitoring systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Initiate and maintain capacity plans to determine current capacity requirements and to assist in determining future upgrades of infrastructure to meet customer requirements. This will require preparation of Engineering Guidance Notes setting out the issues and proposals.
  • Assist the CEM to review equipment failures and diagnose common faulty infrastructure.
  • Identify key risks and help to plan and mitigate against those risks to ensure continuity of work. Participate in the review of the risk register to capture and close risks as they are identified. Prepare Engineering Guidance Notes to advise on the risk and the mitigation proposal
  • Champions and drives the visions and leads people through ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Demonstrates openness and trust and commands respect and values the opinions of others
  • Takes full accountability for their actions and those of their team, valuing each individual contribution
  • Creates a strong sense of belonging and pride in the team, partnering effectively with others
  • Work with the Operations team on energy performance monitoring, preparation of reports and initiate projects to improve energy efficiency / PUE.
  • Work with the Engineering Director / Manager with respect to preparation of weekly/monthly reports for submission to senior management.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of M&E works and local authority approval process
  • Strong Data Centre design/operations experience.
  • Working knowledge of all critical systems equipment.
  • Health and Safety legislation CDM Regulations.
  • Must fully understand the issues around time, cost, and quality with a strong emphasis on delivery to budget yet meeting the operations of a high-end blue-chip customer-based business.
  • Relevant Engineering Degree or acceptable Engineering Diploma
