Mechanical Lead / Mechanical Package Manager - Data Centres - Brussels, Belgium - Initial 13-Month Contract

Our client is a well-known brand operating in 65+ countries and has worked on some of world’s largest mission critical and infrastructure projects. This client has aggressive growth plans and are one of the top 5 largest design and consulting firms in the world.

The data centre arm of the portfolio is a vital and growing area of the business; therefore, our client is always looking for the best talent in the market – and they are looking for a Mechanical Lead / Mechanical Package Manager.

Responsibilities:

The Mechanical package manager will work closely with the electrical package manager to ensure MEP technical elements of the package are delivered efficiently and in line with the clients expectations. You will lead a team of mechanical supervisors and quantity surveyors and drive performance through pre-construction to construction to project close-out.  

Requirements:

• Hold a degree in electromechanics / mechanics / mechanical engineering.
• Previous experience of leading a mechanical site team
• Previous experience of leading large mission critical or industrial projects (data centres preferred)
• Strong communicator and a history of being client facing / the key point of contact on site
• Providing daily and weekly progress updates to the project director / end client
• Solid leadership skills with the ability to motivate and drive staff and sub-contractors
• Full project life cycle experience from design through to handover
• Experience of managing the construction phase of a project
• Fluency in English (French is highly beneficial)
• Experience of Belgian projects is highly beneficial
• Knowledge of local laws, legislations and supply chains is advantageous
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and flexibility to work with changing requirements
• Rights to work in Belgium or an EU passport
