Our client, a global pharmaceutical company, are looking for a Mechanical & Electrical Construction Co-ordinator to join their team. The company has grown to become a world leader in the development, manufacture, and marketing of innovative pharmaceutical products to alleviate some of the world’s biggest health problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Act as the Client’s representative on site, attending all relevant meetings and ensuring that the construction manager and contractors are delivering to client expectations.
- Monitor and coordinate all construction (CSA), Mechanical, Electrical and Process (MEP) works across the project, ensuring full integration with other trades.
- Oversee and drive construction safety management, ensuring compliance with all EHS protocols and fostering a culture of safety on site.
- Manage and track multiple projects and scopes concurrently, identifying in-scope and out-of-scope issues early and taking corrective action.
- Engage in schedule, cost, and quality control, ensuring that all MEP work meets design specifications, performance criteria, and client objectives.
- Challenge proposals from the Construction Management team and contractors with confidence and technical understanding.
- Manage and coordinate work in live facility environments, ensuring operations remain unaffected and risks are managed and mitigated.
- Support and supervise out-of-hours works (evenings and weekends) when required.
- Coordinate and review handover documentation, including commissioning, snagging, and pre-startup checklists.
- Provide clear, concise, and regular project updates to internal stakeholders and project teams.
- Capable of developing scopes of work with design house and client.
- Cultivate and contribute to a collaborative and proactive site culture.
- Take full ownership and accountability for driving progress and ensuring delivery excellence across all MEP elements.
- Proven experience as an MEP Coordinator or similar role on pharmaceutical construction projects >€30 million.
- Requires extensive, relevant experience in MEP and construction project coordination.
- In-depth understanding of construction safety, GMP environments, and working within live operational facilities.
- Demonstrable ability to manage multiple work fronts and contractors concurrently.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems design, installation, and commissioning.
- Excellent project controls knowledge (schedule, cost, quality).
- Proven ability to drive action, resolve issues independently, and maintain project momentum.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence, lead, and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience in managing handover packs, pre-startup controls, and snagging processes.
- Proficient in interpreting scopes of work, drawings, and specifications.
- Flexibility to work on-site full-time, with availability for supervision of off-hours and weekend works.
