HSE Advisor - US, North Carolina - 12 Months Contract

Our client, a globally recognized pioneer in Biotechnology, are recruiting for the position of HSE Advisor. A leader in the industry, our client focuses on areas of high unmet medical need and leverages its expertise to stride for solutions. This is your chance to join them on their global mission to better the lives of those effected by disease and illness. The project at hand is for the construction of a new build biomanufacturing plant based located on the East Coast.

Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside managers  safety program for the construction of a new drug substance manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the main contracting firm to ensure safety is a top priority across all phases of the project.
  • Participate in project-wide safety activities such as permits, Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSRs), and ensure a build team that adheres to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across the construction site to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Enforce safety policies, procedures, and training programs for all site personnel.
  • Monitor safety performance and report to senior management, recommending improvements or corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure the proper use of safety equipment and protective gear for all personnel on site.
Requirements:
  • Requires extensive experience advising on safety programs for large-scale construction projects, with experience on projects ranging from $100M to $400M.
  • Background in safety for greenfield construction, ideally with drug substance biologics or similar industries (non-Biologics / Pharma experience will be considered).
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards, protocols, and regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, and other relevant safety certifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Ability to provide detailed safety reports, conduct risk assessments, and implement safety mitigation plans.
  • Familiarity with pre-construction safety requirements, including PSSRs and safety permits.
  • Relevant safety certifications and training preferred.
